Budget Meeting
Roll Call – Mayor Lattimore, Councilors Jacobs, Hunter, Dempsey, and McNabb, Present.
Staff Members Present – John Salomone, City Manager; Thomas Leone, Corporation Counsel; Debra McCormick, City Clerk; Gary Giannotta, Police Chief; Jerry DelFavero, Public Works Director, Fire Chief Mike Quill.
All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the budget.
The City Manager opened the meeting by reviewing the Public Works budget. Council discussed various issues. Council also commended Mr. DelFavero and his Public Works staff for the good work done on streets and roads during the winter.
The City Manager and Chief Giannotta reviewed the Police Department budget. Council discussion revolved around the School Resource Officer Program, insurance and a security program with Cayuga Community College.
The City Manager and Chief Quill reviewed the Fire Department budget. Council discussed the budget, including overtime, emergency calls, retirement, and a ladder truck purchase. Mayor Lattimore complimented the Fire Department on the event they coordinated early in the day with Secretary of State Randy Daniels.
Council discussed the Mayor’s request to change the Council meeting time to earlier in the day. They agreed to change it to 9:00AM. Council Resolution #59 of 2005 changing the time of the City Council meetings to 9:00 AM commencing Thursday May 19, 2005 through September 1, 2005. Vote: Mayor Lattimore, Councilors Jacobs, McNabb, Hunter, Dempsey – aye. Carried.
